All About Roamzie
In 2018, I left for what I thought would be a few months in Asia. It turned into almost a year.
I spent three weeks working with elephants in Thailand, hiked a seven-day trek through Nepal, and rode a motorbike across most of Vietnam with nothing but a duffle strapped to the back. After that came three months of island hopping through the Philippines, and another stretch back in Vietnam before I settled into a life split between the US and Central America, where I now spend a good part of my year.
Along the way, I went through a lot of gear that promised to make travel easier and didn't. Straps that gave out, "durable" fabric that wasn't, bags that looked great in photos and fell apart on the third trip. If you've traveled long enough, you know the feeling.
Roamzie exists because I got tired of buying things that looked good online and failed in the field. Everything here is picked — and tested — by someone who's actually lived out of a bag for a year at a time, not a team that's never left the office.
If it's on this site, it's because I'd bring it with me.

Years of travel taught me more about people than about gear — how much strangers will do for you when they have every reason not to, and how little that has to do with what's in your bag.
I won't pretend every product here has been personally tested on a mountain somewhere — that wouldn't be honest, and honesty is the whole point of this page. What I can tell you is I built this store the way I try to travel: paying attention, and treating you the way I was treated by people who didn't have to be kind, but were.
That's what travel actually gives you, if you let it: proof that humanity is kinder than the news makes it out be.
